Your first visit starts with a consultation which includes a detailed examination, x-rays and diagnostic tests and often a 3D CBCT scan. At this visit, you can expect to be advised what the problem is, your treatment options, the costs involved and the likelihood of achieving a successful healing outcome. We welcome any questions that you may have regarding the procedure. If you are happy to proceed, treatment can usually be commenced following consultation, during the initial visit.

Endodontic treatment usually takes a total of two visits and for appropriate cases, can be completed in a single visit. During treatment, we use advanced technology including CBCT and treatment is carried out with the aid of a dental operating microscope. Treatment is carried out under a dental dam.

The first treatment usually consists of cleaning (disinfecting) and shaping the root canal system in the roots of your tooth. The tooth is then dressed with a medicated paste and a temporary filling between visits. Usually at the second visit, the root canals are filled and a filling is placed on top of the tooth. Six months after completion of the treatment, we will recall you to check healing.

We communicate directly with your dentist to update them on your treatment progress. For your safety, we have strict sterilisation procedures and protocols.
